Cultural Heritage of our Country
The showrooms in the Museum in the Imperial Wing, the monumental Imperial Staircase with the Ceiling Fesco painted by Paul Troger (1698-1762) in 1739, the Imperial Rooms and the Altmann Hall, as well as the Monastery Church with the Old Cloister are special sights, which should be seen by all visitors to Göttweig.
The Göttweig Monastery Concerts and the Annual Exhibit "Göttweiger Klostergeschichten" of treasured items from the Monastery's rich art collection enrich the cultural presentations in Göttweig.
The permanent exhibit "Monastic Life" in the Monastery's hallway accompanies the visitor on the way from the entrance gate-reception to the center of the magnificent Baroque complex. The exhibit, which illustrates history and present-day life of the Göttweig monks, attempts to create the right mood for a visit oft the Monastery.
